Fire and Ice

Lily, Summer Lady, and Maeve, Winter Lady, Faerie queens from Jim Butcher's series, The Dresden Files.

This was done as part of a birthday present for my friend Mike, who introduced me to the book series. The idea behind this was that the only way Maeve and Lily would look so cozy would be in a male fantasy, hence the pin-upy style.

The outfits are based on their descriptions during their meeting in Proven Guilty. I added a snowflake navel ring for Maeve, which is never mentioned, but seemed appropriate. I wanted to put some flowers in Lily's hair to make her more clearly a Summer Queen, since her sundress is obscured by Maeve. What would be more appropriate than a couple of sunny yellow lilies?

I love drawing Maeve, there's just something about her personality that makes her a really fun subject.
